So excited to finally have gorgeous photos of my new bridal gowns! Thanks again to Anneke Schoneveld (my photographer and- lucky for me!- sister) for her very real talents. Stay tuned for the full collection- they are pretty sweet if I may say so myself :)

Just got back from Premiere Vision New York! Totally tired since I carried my 10 month old, 22+ pound son with me through the whole thing, but it was worth it!

Honestly, that show gets smaller ever season, unfortunately… Only 89 exhibitors compared to the 700+ who show at the Paris edition! Makes me worry further about the state of the fashion industry in NYC. Ah well, at least it only costs me 2 subway rides to see this one. And anyway, I’m glad I went! Made several new contacts with some fabulous lace suppliers (YAY!!! I <3 LACE!) and will be getting some new fabrics in that surely will make brides-to-be swoon :)

Unfortunately my favorite vendor wasn’t there this time. I sourced the fabrics for my own wedding dress (right- not the best detail shot, but you get the idea maybe…) from them and am dying to create some new styles with their goods. They make these amazing fine cotton-like tulles with the most delicate, antique-feeling embroideries that are just to die for. I swear no one else can do what they do… The photo of this 1930’s gown (left) is a wonderful inspiration for the kind of direction I would go with their fabrics. Guess it’s time to look them up again because here I am, ranting!

My Ella gown (left) has definitely been a popular style for me and I have a feeling more and more women are searching for great Art Deco, 1930’s inspired, elegant bias gowns for their weddings. I came across this illustration of gowns from the 30’s- how awesome are these? Ahh!! I LOVE the details. Can’t wait to make some more Art Deco driven designs and to incorporate more of the unique styling details that were so popular back then

Sigh… They really don’t make em like they used to! Then again, I guess we all don’t wear evening gowns on a regular basis to dinner anymore. Sometimes I kinda wish we did- at least every once in a while :)

I am eternally inspired by fashions of the past! When I created this silver wedding gown for a Nov 2011 beach wedding (left), it really felt so classically old Hollywood- then I came across this wonderful portrait that I had saved some time back… I guess it’s clear that inspirations do seep into my head and pop up again later even when I don’t realize it directly!

For those girls who are tired of white wedding gowns… may I suggest Fire Engine Red?? Actually I heard of a wedding where all the guests were requested to wear white and the bride showed up in a hot red dress- I love that idea! Or what about a red reception dress?

This dress rules. Enough said!Seriously though, almost every bride says she wants to pick bridesmaids dresses that the girls can wear again, but how many of them actually do? Even with the best intentions. But this dress would be ADORABLE worn out to dinner, strolling through the city on a hot summer night- throw on some flat metallic sandals and long necklaces and you’re golden. I love it!
